What is an Airboard?
The Airboard is an electric hydrofoil, also known as an eFoil. Riders control their speed with a handheld remote controller. With a partially submerged mast, it offers a tremendous feeling of freedom as you glide just above the water in near silence.
What is the difference between an eFoil and an Airboard?
Airboard refers to the whole configuration of board. Technically, an eFoil refers to the mast / propulsion unit only. That said, many people refer to the setup as an eFoil and the sport as eFoiling. We also call it Airboarding.
What is the maximum rider weight?
Airboard has been extensively tested with riders weighing up to 120 kg / 265 lbs. Heavier, experienced riders may be able to use Airboard, however our factory specified limit for warranty is 120 kg.
What is the total shipping container weight with Airboard and it's accessories?
The complete Airboard package weighs between 38 - 45kg
How do I get my content shared on Airborne social media?
If you would like for us to potentially reshare your content, our preference is high res, good quality content in portrait (9x16). Our instagram story or feed specs are no stickers and minimal text over footage. The content must be exciting, with different angles and quick stitch clips, not just one long clip with music. We love seeing our customers' enthusiasm and all content they share. Keep up the good work and always tag #RideAirboard and @Airbornefoils in anything you post so we see it!
Is eFoiling environmentally friendly?
Airboards operate on battery power, which means they can be recharged using renewable energy. Our hydrofoil efficiency and light weight design potentially make Airboard the most environmentally friendly ‘powered’ water craft (not reliant upon wind or waves) when speed and range is considered. Sustainability is one of our company values and we are on a path of continuous improvement to make Airboard as environmentally friendly as possible.

What is the best way to carry my Airboard into water?
You can carry the board by holding one handle and the mast. The board can either be in front of you or behind you. Alternatively, you can crouch down beside the board and place the mast on the top of your shoulder. Engaging your core, lift your setup as if you are coming out of a squat. The board will be resting on your back and you can have both hands on the mast.
If carrying the complete board and battery is too heavy, we suggest carrying them separately and connecting the battery close to where you’ll enter the water. Just be sure to avoid putting your battery on the sand. Carry it down and place it straight into your board.
Is eFoiling easy?
It’s easy to learn how to eFoil, with most people able to ride confidentally after a few sessions in the water. We regularly hear our riders boast about how much easier eFoiling is than surfing.
What is the difference between an eFoil and a Hydrofoil?
The propulsion system is the difference between an eFoil vs hydrofoil. Through the use of electric power, you can experience a quiet yet thrilling ride on an eFoil. The electric motor gives you the power to fly through the air above a flat lake or river without the effort of pumping, like you do on a hydrofoil. While a hydrofoil relies on wind and waves, eFoils give you the freedom to ride anywhere, anytime. eFoiling has a much easier learning curve than hydrofoiling or surfing.
Is eFoiling dangerous?
Like other water and snow sports, expect to crash and have a few thrills and spills, especially when learning. Like other water and snow sports, learning to Airboard can be an extreme activity. You need to be travelling at around 20km/h to be able to hydrofoil, and there is potential to hit the board, wing or eFoil in a crash. Part of the learning experience involves learning to fall away from the board to avoid injury. We recommend wearing an impact vest and a helmet.
What is Airboards top speed?
Airboard can achieve speeds of up to 60km/h. Top speed depends on a number of variables including weight, currents and rider ability.
Do I need a licence or registration for my eFoil?
Regulations vary from State to State and Country to Country. Please check your local laws to confirm those details
What do i do if i run out of battery while riding?
Our bluetooth controller has the battery charge % displayed on the screen and gives warnings at 30% so you can make it back to land safely before the battery is completely drained. You'll hear a beep and feel a vibration.
